I turn to St. Martha’s prayer because it helps me:

- Trust in God’s timing, even when I’m anxious
- Embrace both the ‘Mary’ and ‘Martha’ within me
Her practical faith reminds me that our everyday tasks can be acts of devotion.
St. Martha’s Nine-Day Novena Prayer
This is the prayer I recite during the nine-day novena to St. Martha:
O St. Martha, I resort to thee and to thy petition and faith, I offer up to thee this light which I shall burn every Tuesday for nine Tuesdays. Comfort me in all my difficulties through the great favor thou didst enjoy when Our Savior lodged in thy house. I beseech thee to have definite pity in regard to the favor I ask (mention favor). Intercede for my family that we may always be provided for in all our necessities. I ask thee St. Martha to overcome the dragon which thou didst cast at thy feet. One Our Father and three Hail Marys, and a Glory Be. Amen.
St. Martha’s Feast Day Prayer
On her feast day, July 29th, I like to say this prayer:
O blessed St. Martha, your faith led Jesus to proclaim, “I am the resurrection and the life”; and faith let you see beyond his humanity when you cried out, “Lord I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God.” With firm hope you said, “I know that God will give you whatever you ask of him,” and Jesus called your brother Lazarus back from the dead. With pure love for Jesus you welcomed him into your home. Friend and servant of our Savior, I too am “troubled about many things.” (Pause for silent prayer.) Pray for me that I may grow in faith, hope and love, and that Jesus, who sat at your table, will hear me and grant me a place at the banquet of eternal life. Amen.
Prayer to
St. Martha for Help in All Needs
When I’m facing challenges, this prayer brings me comfort:
O Blessed St. Martha, assist me in my needs and petitions. Be with me particularly in my times of stress and anxiety. Help me to grow in faith and to embrace the trust that you displayed when Jesus, your friend, was near. Help me to remember the goodness of God, even when life presents difficulties. I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St. Martha Prayer for a Lover to Come Back
In matters of the heart, especially when hoping for reconciliation, this prayer to St. Martha can be powerful:
St. Martha, I resort to your aid and protection. As proof of my affection and faith, I offer you this light, which I shall burn every Tuesday. Comfort me in my difficulties and intercede for my intentions (especially in bringing back my lover). I beseech you to have infinite pity in regard to the favor I ask of you. (State your request)
I beg of you, St. Martha, to overcome all difficulties as you overcame the dragon at your feet. In the name of our blessed Lord, I pray that my request be granted. Amen.
(Recite the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, then light a candle)
When I pray with St. Martha’s spirit, I’m reminded that my daily work and struggles can be offerings to God. Her example teaches me to serve with love and to trust even when I don’t understand.
