And it’s not just about seeking comfort. St. Christopher also brings a sense of protection that I can’t help but be thankful for. I always feel a little bit safer knowing he’s watching over me as I navigate the world. The legend goes that Chris was a strapping young lad on a mission to serve the greatest king he could find. His search led him to carry travelers across a treacherous river, until one day a child asked for a lift.
As Chris trudged through the water, the kid got heavier and heavier until our hero felt like he had the weight of the entire world on his shoulders. Plot twist – the child was Christ! He commended Christopher for his service and boom – the patron saint of travelers was born.
